The rural municipality of De Wolden is a municipality located in Southwest Drenthe, between Meppel and Hoogeveen. The Wolden has an area of 22,700 ha. and has 17 cores, along with 24,000 inhabitants. 

In the villages it is good living. There is a high level of facilities and a thriving club life. There are many activities undertaken. In  De Wolden are several elementary schools, swimming pools, gymnasiums and fields and libraries. 

Also in the field of recreation and tourism in the Wolden of things to do. There are plenty of campsites, holiday parks, hotels, guest houses and catering establishments. Then there is also the possibility to camp at the farm.
